Time to hand out some grades.

Carlisle used its back-up quarterback and a monster special teams play to hold off a second-half rally by Mechanicsburg to record a somewhat sloppy but well earned 27-14 victory to open the 2021 season Friday night at John H. Frederick Field inside Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Park. 

We’ve seen it happen a thousand times before, where the teams with the uber-exceptional player crash and burn after graduation. But there seems to be a different air around the Mechanicsburg program following the loss of do-it-all quarterback Micah Brubaker.
