Teagun Westrick, DL, Central Dauphin: If it felt like Central Dauphin’s Teagun Westrick was in on every tackle of Friday night’s 26-14 loss to Cedar Cliff, perception isn’t far from reality. The senior defensive linemen locked in a game-high 18 tackles for the gents in green.
Daimear Coad, WR, State College: The Little Lions had no trouble moving the rock Friday night against Altoona. While this nod easily could also go to RB D’Antae Sheffey who gashed the Mountain Lions for 200 stripes or his QB who completed 77 percent of his passes for nearly 200 yards, we’re tipping the cap to Coad. The senior hauled in five receptions for 106 yards—including a 42-yard touchdown strike.
Kaiden Maurer, QB, Line Mountain: When your team lights up the scoreboard for 62 points, there’s plenty of accolades to go around. This one, however, goes to Maurer who racked up 172 stripes on 8-of-13 passing and four touchdowns. Not bad for a night’s work.
EJ Rivera, RB, East Pennsboro: When you average 14.3 yards per carry, you know you’re having yourself a good evening on the gridiron. That’s what EJ Rivera produced en route to 143 total yards on just 10 carries. He accounted for both of the Panthers touchdowns in its 16-9 victory against Trinity.
Cam Sweeney, QB, Hershey: Stopping the electric Cam Sweeney was going to be a tall task for any opponent. Sweeney knifed through the Shippensburg defense Friday night taking on a workhorse-like 20 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in a 22-19 loss to the Greyhounds.
Jackson Stanton, WR, Gettysburg: Stanton was The Man for the Warriors on Friday night in a 41-34 victory against Waynesboro. The senior wideout served as the to-go target, hauling in a team-high six receptions for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Silas Hernandez, WR, Steel-High: When you haul in the game-winner in the final seconds, you earn the right to be up for Player of the Week honors. That’s just the rule, right? He finished the evening with 101 yards on seven receptions.
Jasper Shepps, WR, Juniata: The dynamic Shepps nearly fueled the Indians’ dub Thursday night against Steel-High if it was for the gent mentioned above. Still, Shepps’ effort deserves recognition—102 receiving yards including a 77-yard touchdown and a interception on the night isn’t too shabby.
