Andy Shay’s Elite 11 Rankings After Week 3

11. Conestoga Valley4-0NR
Not sure the Buckskins have been fully tested to date, but they are simply killing anybody they roll up against. They are averaging 41 points a game and have surrendered three touchdowns total in 16 quarters.
10. Twin Valley4-0NR
I must admit I’ve been too slow to pull the trigger on the Raiders from Elverson. This is at least one week overdue and my apologies to the TV program and its faithful.
9. Wyomissing3-110
More meat on the regular season bone than in recent years and the Spartans are passing all the tests. Couple of zingers still to come though in the form of current No. 11 Twin Valley and No. 8 L-S.
8.Lampeter-Strasburg4-09
Pioneers have surrendered only 30 points through 16 quarters. It’s a lot easier to win with those types of defensive numbers on a consistent basis.
7. Wilson West Lawn3-17
After crushing Reading as expected, the Bulldogs will get a full metal jacket test this week against 3-1 Cedar Crest. See if they belong.
6. Dallastown4-06
Wildcats knew they were in a dog fight with South Western but found a way to win despite surrendering more than 400 yards of total offense to the Mustangs.
5. Bishop McDevitt3-15
No surprise the Crusaders knocked off Cedar Cliff, but beating the Colts by 40 has me colored impressed.
4. State College3-14
Defense came through and pitched a shutout in the second half to knock Cumberland Valley from among the Elite 11. Game was a toss up at halftime.
3. Central York3-13
Anybody else think this Panthers team is building this season instead of starting lights out and staying there? Asking for a friend, of course.
2. Harrisburg3-12
Solid win over Chambersburg, nothing spectacular just solid. And after what the Cougars have endured the first month, solid is acceptable.
1. Manheim Township4-01
Narrow two-point victory over a District 1 club that is .500 overall for the season. Makes me wonder about the overall strength of District 3. Good first month of tests for the Blue Streaks and they passed them all.
