Andy Shay’s Elite 11 Rankings After Week 8

11. Conestoga Valley8-011
Here we go. Buckskins hit the road to take on fellow unbeaten Exeter Township this week. The Eagles have some postseason chops, but this year we chose CV as the Elite 11 team.
10. Lampeter-Strasburg8-08
Here we go, again. Twin Valley and Wyomissing are the final two games for the Pioneers. Lots to be learned over the next 8 quarters.
9. Twin Valley7-110
Lost to alpha dog Wyomissing by 10 points in a titanic matchup. Was a tight game all the way and in our book still goes down as a good loss to a fellow Elite 11 squad
8.Wyomissing7-19
Spartans still remain the big dog on the block and proved it by beating Twin Valley by double digits. They are the standard bearer.
7. Dallastown7-17
Hard to imagine the Wildcats not finishing the job and getting to the playoff starting line with a 9-1 mark. Spring Grove and Red Lion have a combined 7 wins to their credit so opportunity knocks for a high seed.
6. Harrisburg6-22
Congrats to the Eagles from Cumberland Valley for keeping their slim playoff hopes alive by pulling off a titanic upset of the Cougars. Bottom line this was a bad loss for Harrisburg. Close game, still a setback in the bigger picture.
5. Wilson West Lawn7-16
There’s still No. 1 Manheim Township out there lurking in Week 10. But the Bulldogs keep improving a little with each passing week.
4. Bishop McDevitt7-15
I’d say the best way to describe the Crusaders their last eight quarters is they are handling their business with workmanlike efficiency and getting the job done well.
3. State College7-14
Welcomed CD East to the next level of the Commonwealth by dropping a 55-burger on the Panthers at home and handing CD East its first loss.
2. Central York7-13
I love this matchup with 6-2 Archbishop Hoban in Week 9. The Knights have played a killer schedule and will present some challenges a 49-6 win over another YAIAA school isn’t capable of providing.
1. Manheim Township8-01
The Blue Streaks have outscored the opposition, eight of them, by a combined score of 310-55 this season. On average that’s a score of 39-7. In other words about an average of winning by five touchdowns a week.
