Cumberland Valley's defense rattles CD East's Kane Everson in District 3 Class 6A first-round blowout

SILVER SPRING TWP. — Cumberland Valley ran over and through the CD East defense for the second time in three weeks as it rolled to a 62-9 victory in the first round of the District 3 Class 6A football playoffs Friday night at Cumberland Valley’s Harry Chapman Field.

The Eagles will host No. 4 Hempfield, a 31-28 winner over Dallastown next Friday in the semifinals.

Top seed Cumberland Valley (9-2) rushed for 346 yards and quarterback Jared Plessinger completed 7-of-9 passes for 179 yards and three scores. Penn State commit Charles Katshir caught five passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns and intercepted two Panther passes.
