Cocalico jumps into the fray with an impressive victory in Week 2 against Governor Mifflin while others in District 3 shuffled positions. Who else made the cut?

Each week, we will rank the Top 10 teams in District 3, regardless of Class or Division. Disagree, let us know on Twitter (@4thdownmag) and Facebook.

RankingLast WeekXXXXXXTeam
 10  9
 middletown Middletown (2-0)
Plenty of new faces on the defensive side of the ball, but yet it looks the same. Ditto for the offense. All I know is this team has surrendered one touchdown in eight quarters and forced the opposition to punt 12 times. That will do the trick.
 9  8  central dauphin Central Dauphin (1-1)
Opportunity is knocking for the Rams with a road trip to Wilson and coming off a bye. Total focus on the Bulldogs, who are struggling in case you haven’t noticed, for two full weeks of practice. How much does that show up Friday night?
 8 5  wilson Wilson (1-1)
That is not the most dynamic Spring-Ford team that Bulldogs had to come from behind and beat last week. Are we giving the Bulldogs too much credit? The offense seems stuck in gear for having a big-time back and solid supporting cast.
 7 4   governor mifflin Governor Mifflin (2-1)
Perhaps a case of playing and beating big, bad Wilson beats you up a little for two weeks instead of two days? I’m just throwing darts at a board, really.
 6  7  berks catholic  Berks Catholic (2-0)
That’s 93 points in eight quarters for the Saints, and zero points scored for the opposition. For all the offense this team has at its disposal – and it’s a LOT – is the defense the bread-and-butter? Getting first downs is even tough against the second team. Sheesh!
 5  NR  cocalico Cocalico (2-0)
So the Eagles doubled up the team that beat Wilson the week before. Yeah, that’s announcing your presence with authority. Not only is Cocalico winning, they are crushing cats with more than 100 points scored in eight quarters.

 manheim central Manheim Central (1-0)
Edged Warwick to pick a solid Week 1 victory. The offense scoring 35 points is a very good sign considering all the new skill position players. Surrending 27 points gives one a slight pause for the cause. It’s early. And Warwick has some chops this season.
 3 3  manheim township Manheim Township (2-0)
Seems like clearing the Central Dauphin hurdle was a big boost for Blue Streaks. All they did was go out and wallop South Western 42-0. This team is looking more and more dangerous.
2 2 cumberland valley Cumberland Valley (2-0)
That’s six consecutive quarters and counting since the Eagles defense has surrendered a point. For those who thought Central York would provide CV with a test ... yeah that didn’t happen.
1 1  harrisburg Harrisburg (2-0)
Cougars enjoyed a bye week, which only means they will be rested and healed up for a road trip to Pottsville after an opening two-game grind. Seems like they are head and shoulders above the rest.
