2013 Season recap

A new head coach at Cumberland Valley produced some not-so-new results for the 2013 season. First-year head coach Mike Whitehead led the Eagles to an 11-3 record (6-1 Commonwealth Division), including a trip to the District 3-AAAA championship game where Cumberland Valley fell to Lower Dauphin, 24-21.
 
With five starters returning on both sides of the ball and a new coach in place for the first time in 24 years, Whitehead’s debut season was a successful one, with the Eagles bringing a level of consistency week-in and week-out.

The Wing T’s: A pair of Tylers–Heisey and Updegraff–propelled Cumberland Valley to the District 3-AAAA championship game

In the 2013 season, the “T” in Cumberland Valley’s Wing-T offense could stand for the name Tyler.

Senior backs Tyler Updegraff and Tyler Heisey supplied a one-two punch which kept opposing defenses off-balance for most of the season, as Cumberland Valley compiled an 11-3 record, including 6-1 in its division and rushed its way to the District 3-AAAA championship game.
