Red Land made its intentions clear at the outset of Friday’s contest with Bishop McDevitt.

The Patriots spent the game’s opening drive in an unbalanced formation with just a single wideout, an effort at replicating the power-football formula that had garnered them an upset win in the teams’ previous meeting.

Neither head coach seemed all that surprised that Bishop McDevitt and Susquehanna Township ended up being a defensive battle claimed by the Crusaders 7-3.

Two powerful offenses were ground to nearly a halt by each defense in a game that featured only 251 total yards, 16 first downs and a staggering 13 punts.
