Once again, a TVL representative is our Player of the Week. Happy Thanksgiving to Halifax's Evan Billow, who played a big part in the Wildcats' 19-18 win over Muncy in the PIAA Class 1A first round.
Billow did not have the numbers of some of his POTW competition, but his 5-yard rumble into the end zone put Halifax in the lead for good in the fourth quarter. That was his second touchdown, the first was from 4 yards out, to give him a night where he totaled 53 yards rushing and receiving. Billow, the RB-LB combo, also led the team with nine tackles.
Halifax will play Lackawanna Trail, which just beat Tri-Valley, in Saturday's next round.
Billow comfortably led the voting with 588 of the total 920 votes cast. That's 63.9 percent. Way back behind him in second was Harrisburg LB Andre White (6.96 percent), with Bishop McDevitt's Chase Diehl in third (5.9).
